The security and privacy of your documents is our top priority. All documents are fully encrypted using AES specifications, and your data is never sold to third parties.
Can you read my documents? Technically, yes. But practically, everything is secured and locked down. All documents are fully encrypted "at rest", meaning they're stored fully encrypted in our database. In the unlikely event someone gained access to the database, they would not be able to read anything about your documents.
Can you expand on encryption? The Detangle database is encrypted at rest using AES specifications. Detangle is not end-to-end encrypted (we have the encryption keys), but otherwise it's encrypted as much as is practically possible.
